VBHeinze is the duo of VButterfly and Nathan Heinze. The two first teamed up on 2005's "Special Feeling" and have been working together on tracks ever since, including a cover of the Cure's "Love Song."
VButterfly
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, VButterfly is taking the Miami Dance Music scene by storm. During the early 90s, she frequently attended such NYC institutions as Sound Factory, The Tunnel, and Limelight. Listening to such legends as Junior Vasquez , Peter Rauhofer, Danny Tennaglia, Hex Hector, Jason Ojeda, Dimitri, and Moby helped to pave the way for her eventual passion for becoming a DJ and singer. After all her travels from NYC to Miami, her passion for music only escalated. Seeing such great female DJ's such as Tracy Young, Dj Heather, Alyson Calagna, and Susan Morabito cemented Vbutterfly's decision. She soon purchased her first decks and the rest is history!
For the past two years, she has quickly undergone the transformation from Vanessa Picart (music aficionado) to VButterfly, DJ and performer at large! Her work has taken her to thewomb.com, Karma Lounge, Grass Lounge, Blue, Tantra, Costa Rica, and Club Zen in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Recently VButterfly has begun writing, producing and performing as well. She brings the same passion to the studio and stage as she has to spinning, and the results are just as dramatic. Her tracks are characterized by passionate delivery and a progressive electronic and tribal fusion.
Nathan Heinze
Miami's Nathan Heinze writes and produces progressive and electro house. Think funky synth/basslines, bold hooks and catchy melodies. His dance tracks have received radio and club play throughout the United States and Latin America. More than anything, he creates tracks that are danceable and catchy. His philosophy is to 1) make people remember his songs after the first listen, and 2) keep them coming back for more.
Nathan began to show interest in music and the arts at a young age, and started recording music on his first synthesizer at the age of 12. Being a product of the 80s, Nathan often uses the sounds of the decade for inspiration. Early and current influences include the Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Depeche Mode, and Madonna.
During the last few years, Nathan's inspirations have also included trance artists such as Paul Van Dyke, ATB and Sash, as well as house artists Junior Jack, Kid Creme, and Daft Punk. Classical music has always been a huge part of Nathan's collection, and he has written and produced a number of classically inspired new age tracks, including a cover of Pachobel's Canon in D.
Besides his solo work, Nathan also writes and produces songs for other artists and has collaborated on a number of projects, most recently with VButterfly and Vanessa Valentin. Other collaborators have included rappers Napoleon and Greg Hall.
